Yellowbird East Co-operative Preschool (YECP) is a community owned and operated playschool for children 3 & 4 years of age. We are a non-profit organization, putting all our funds backing to the preschool programs. We pride ourselves in providing a safe environment for children, instilling positive self-esteem and confidence in each individual child through our “Play, Read and Run” philosophy!
Our teachers experience and genuine love of kids shows in the classroom. Since 1992, literally hundreds of 3 and 4 year-olds have grown under the guidance of our teachers who provide a warm and caring environment designed to nurture healthy growth and development.
Our program offers your child only the best quality learning and play activities, designed with age-appropriate activities and equipment. We aim to enhance the overall development of our children and promote healthy living through our half hour physical activity program in every class.
We challenge children to explore, create, discover and be curious about their world.
The preschool's philosophy is based on the knowledge that young children learn by playing and that their play reflects their continuous emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth and development.
The children in the four year old program get an opportunity to work with the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and tools. This handwriting program has proven very successful in introducing writing to pre-kindergarten children in a way that is fun and educational.
